I finally made it to St.Gallen! But, oh god, at first it wasn't pretty. Being really happy to leave cold Skandinavia behind (don't get me wrong i did have a blast there, but sooo cold) I was really looking forward to getting some southern vibes. Ha! you wish!

First of all, I arrived in Switzerland in pieces, the guy who brought me here didn't treat me well, let me tell you that. Is this the way to treat a cosmopolitan? But worse, when I got there no one seemed to care about me. All those profit maximizing bastards were studying and writing papers in the library. Wandering around in the snow looking for friends the only person I found was this boy in the yellow sweater. What a bully! He treated me like a freshman, threw me into the snow, used me to express his hate towards the rich and beautiful and most and for all: All I got to eat was CHOCOLATE! oh my, what happened to the swiss hospitality, i thought.

But then, left all alone in the snow, broken and sick of Toblerone, the CEMSies came along. Unfortunately they were busy with the initiation ritual for their new members, so they had completely forgotten about me. But oh they made up for it. All of them treated me soooo nice, almost like a king. They even let me touch one of their cow bells, and it was quite a big one. This has got to mean something :)

Unfortunately, I just had one day there, since now I am returning to Rotterdam. Oh I can't wait to go home!

GO BERGEEEEEEN!!!!
About time! After spending two weeks in Bergen I couldn't wait to tell you about my experiences! The CEMSies at NHH have been really nice to me, despite their being very busy with exams, and I am grateful that they were able to take me out a couple of times so that I could see their beautiful city with my own eyes.

I was first taken to a superawesom Halloween party. At first I was a little scared by the costumes, but I got used to it pretty fast and had a lot of fun at the party!

After the Halloween party I was taken hiking. I definitely recommend Bergen as a hiking destination, the air is really fresh and clean and the views are amazing!

And naturally, I was taken to see the main sights of the city!

I really hope to get the chance to see Bergen again. The weather really isn't as bad as they say, and the city is absolutely beautiful. Thank you, CEMS Club Bergen!!!

Erasmus in Prague

My next stop after Budapest was Prague and local CEMS community. The autumn weather was not so friendly to me – still rain and fog disables me to visit the famous sightseeing of this great historical city. My new Prague friends showed me the most famous places at least on the pictures and promised to take me there in spring.

Prague CEMS Club showed me their work which they have divided into three core pillars – socializing, education and corporate partnerships.

First day of my stop we have met with local academic director Mr. Jiri Hnilica, academic coordinator Mrs. Renata Subrtova and corporate relations coordinator Mrs. Tereza Kralova. Tight cooperation between CEMS Club and the CEMS program representatives enables to join the activities of both units together and empower the impact of each other.

At the same day we have visited one of many interesting classes taught at VSE exclusively for the CEMS program. I have to say that there is a really good working atmosphere at the lectures when the teachers really communicate with the students and thanks to corporate partners solve real business cases.

Next day I was invited to various meetings with CEMS Club corporate partners. The representatives are already planning activities for the next semester starting in March with events like CEMS teambuilding, rookie weekend for the next year students, rotation dinner or CEMS golf tournament. The unique strong relations with corporate partners enable them to create various events sponsored by the partners and push the meaning of CEMS club to another dimension.

But student life is not only about studying. Therefore the CEMS Club organizes various socializing and cultural activities. It's a pity that I did not have a chance to visit the main local event of the semester CEMS Gala Casino Night which took place 14 days ago. Everyone who has something in common with CEMS met during this unique gala event. But hopefully this is not the only event. Students and alumni meet every second week on traditional CEMS drink each time held in different local restaurant. This time they had a meeting in famous restaurant „Pravek“(Primeval) with great primeval show and decoration.

Unfortunately I haven't got more time to visit more local events and see the famous Prague places. My next stop will be St. Gallen. I am already looking forward to it :)

With the worldwide best quality of life, architectural wonders and century long history and culture, it was no surprise that Vienna hosted Erasmus for a couple of days in May. Plenty of events, new people - and of course academia were part of Erasmus' stay, as the following pictures show:

A Trip to Istanbul...

I was welcomed by the friendly people of Istanbul and together with my friends we stayed in Koç's guest houses. When I reached Istanbul the students weren't there yet so the coordinators showed all their interest in me, I should admit that I was kinda spoiled and felt like a star.

Little trips to main campus and downtown were really amusing!

I got rid of the feeling that I could have been seen as an outcast and even watched the presentations with my friends.

The weather in Istanbul was brilliant so I also wore my glasses.

Tasting the traditional food was a great experience.

Couldn't resist the yummy Turkish dessert as well!

Taking part in all the meetings was a little bit tiring...

I grabbed some Turkish words during my visit to the Koç Library!

After exploring the campus I took a rest by the valley on my own and listened the silence.

Mostly, I rested on cosy CEMS towels!

I was impressed by the guy I saw downtown so I tried the same gesture in the main campus.

The boat trip over the Bosphorus was quite amazing, travelling from Europe to Asia was devastating, I hold my breath and watched the unique prospect.

I had the chance of meeting with the founder of Koç University, Mr. Vehbi Koç, so I was happy.

after the fun challenges I faced in Budapest, I also visited Buda Castle.
Before taking the track up to the hill I took some rest in the hay.Since it was an extremely hot summer day, after the walk up to the top of the Castle Hill I had an ice cream ...
... and took a bath in the fountain with beautiful girls. Dolce Vita!
With the CEMSies together we were enjoying the amazing view on the city in the sunset.Guys, you should visit Budapest! Here you can make friends...... play skittles... go back time ... and hide behind the tower of Mathias Church or on the Fishermen's Bastil

Erasmus dreams back to Stockholm

Dear friends,

After the months that have passed, I have still not been able to forget about my visit to Stockholm in Sweden, the place with the most beautiful, intelligent, entertaining - and none the least humble - people. I started my journy outside of the Stockholm School of Economics, not sure if I dared entering into this breathtaking hall of academia ...

... and so I stood outside comtemplating the wonders of life when I was struck by the realisation that I had CEMS behind me ...

I entered this well-renowned school only to be struck by the fear that I would be seen as an outcast, and so, I kept my distance ...

However, I did not have to wait long before I was embraced by some friendly-looking blond girls ...

... from there on, I was at an integrate part of this happy family. I came just in time for some Easter celebrations ....

... where the charming Swedes went out of their way to make my stay at Stockholm as pleasant as possible, and bought me the necessary equipment...

They then took me for a trip to the Archipelago, which was one of the most beautiful experiences with thousands of tiny islands in the middle of the city surrounded by the sea ...

After this big excursion, we stopped to grab some lunch ...

...which lead to some serious discussions ...

I was once again taken out into the cold, but now to see some local animals in Stockholm ...

... you know, just an average stroll in the centre of Stockholm...

This last sight was slightly scary and so I hid under the canon for a while...

There was a struggle about me for what to do next ...

And as I was looking forward to another trip to the Archipleago, I suddenly realised that the boat we were on now was unusually large and that it kept moving further and further away from the city of a thousand islands, my heart was breaking. Where were they taking me? Fortunately, the people made me feel at home also here but I was curious to see what would come next ...

Mai-li took me aside to explain what was going on. My trip to Sweden had abruply come to an end and I was apparently on a boat going to ... FINLAND! I had mixed feelings, how could I leave Sweden? Even for a country as awsome as having the privilege of being the neighbour of Sweden ...

... I was devestated ... Not knowing what to do with myself, I went to a dark place where I started to become self-destructive. I took to ... gambling ...

...I stayed until my money ran out, at the very same time my friends had managed to locate me. I was thrilled by the sight of Sarah who convinced me that I would have a completely new and fantastic experience in Finland and that the memory of Sweden would always stay with me. My spirit lifted and we had some more amazing moments at the cruize to Sweden's neighbour.

The rest of the journey is in a daze. The memory of Sweden will truly stay with me forever, and one day I will return to the country of amazing, intelligent, beautiful, crazy, wonderful (and humble) people. Until then, I have my dreams ...

Meeting the Student Board & CEMS Clubs in Warsaw, April 2010.

Dear CEMSies,

It's a great pleasure for me to present you a short relation from my visit in Warsaw, that took place in April 2010 during the Spring Student Board Meeting & CEMS Club Conference. I met plenty of amazing people there and successfully established many new relations. Below you'll find a gallery of pictures followed by my short comments. Enjoy!

I had to admit that the welcome from the Student Board & CEMS Clubs exceeded my expectations. Look what's the real cost of popularity! I could hardly breathe! ;)

And then some individual welcomings...

A bit leater, I made a little Warsaw city tour.

Then I saw the Warsaw School of Economics premises. They looked quite philosopher-friendly ;).

Then the SB took me to the McKinsey Metropolitan Warsaw.

I got involved in the SB works on the CEMS Corporate Package Offer. I even added some contribution to the project, cause believe me... such a humanist like me possesses a versatile knowledge on every subject... Actually, I wrote myself something similar in 1533. It was entitled: Hyperaspistes diatribae, which you surely know.

The CSR Team was my favorite working group. You know, I have to be up-to-date for not to loose track of the most modern philosophic & social thought!

And in the evening I tried my luck at bowling together with SB & CEMS Clubs!!

And then another day of the meeting, this time at Deloitte!

And finally, let me share with you my impressions from the most memorable event that took place on the 40th floor of the Marriott Hotel - the Elections of the Miss & Mister BIG SCANDAL! Congratulations to the winners!

All in all, the Warsaw meeting was an amazing time and I miss much all of you guys! I hope we meet together once again in Rotterdam at the CEMS Annual Events in December this year!

Erasmus in Copenhagen!

From Cologne to Copenhagen.

Dear CEMS Students.

It was quite the party in Cologne - I especially enjoyed the boat ride, the Glüwein and meeting all these Presidents. The Cologne Club is pretty impressive, they have 7 presidents! The Student Board very nicely handed me over to Thomas and Marie from the CCC, and thus begins my Danish journey...

Pfff... There is only one thing to do after a night like the Saturday Party...

I am not sure the young Lady quite got my order...

You know that feeling, the day after? It seems to me that those CEMS students like to work hard an play harder! I hope the Danes will be more moderate...

First meeting with the President and VP of the Student Board. It went alright, although I am not convinced that I got Latin approved as a CEMS language. Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum sonatur!

Mr. Smith sure takes CEMS seriously. That is a wonderful attitude in a young man!

Arriving at the airport...

I almost got confisquated in the Airport. Note to future Erasmus-travellers: I am NOT handy to have in a carry-on, as I apparently am quite capable of KO'ing flight personnel.

And the Danes though it was a hard choice!

Unfortunately, they caught me before I escaped. ESADE, here I cooooooome!!!

I am telling you, the Danes had to restrict me. As you can see from my frown, I am NOT a happy traveler. I did get a smule from the SAS-stewardesses... Hmm... Maybe I am going to like Scandinavia after all!

I am flyyyying, flyyyyying...! These modern modes of transportation sure have their charm.

Arriving at Copenhagen, in the middle of what they called the COP15. The Danes seem very interested in anything related to green thinking...

Home with the CCC President. I like the lakes in Copenhagen, but it is not exactly sunny.

Dear CEMSies,

During last week's Annual Event, Cologne passed on the torch to Rotterdam, which was also the offial kick-off of my Challenge. I challenge you, the CEMS community, to have me visit the countries of all the 25 full CEMS members before next year's Annual Event.

For those of you who don't know me yet, I'm a famous 15th Century humanist and scholar, who sees the entire world as his home. Just like you CEMSies do. By taking me along on your travels, I'd like to prove how internationally dense the CEMS network actually is.

But, there's more. If you take on the challenge and show me a good time, there's something in it for you as well. Next year, when I've returned to Rotterdam, the RSM will hand out at least two awards: One for the most sensational and creative travel, and one for the most sustainable travel.

If you'd like to win one of these awards, all you need to do is prove the RSM that I had a good time in your country, by uploading your travel documentation on this blog. The more creative, the better. Contact your local CEMS Club for more details.

So, make sure that I visit your country and show me a CEMSational time!
